Aaron Horton, M.S., LPC-Associate, NCC

Aaron Horton

I work with adolescents and adults suffering from depressive and anxiety disorders, complex trauma, women’s issues, narcissistic abuse, attachment issues, and personality disorders. I also work with couples to improve communication, learn healthy conflict resolution skills, and develop a long-term family vision and mission that restores harmony to everyday life. I believe mental health is a state of being in which one accepts and faces life’s givens while using one’s talents, strengths, and energy to architect purpose and meaning in life.

I believe in the power of psychoeducation and personalized, patient-first mental health care, creating a unique treatment plan for each client with specific, measurable goals. I use therapeutic breathwork, CBT, and DBT to help clients reduce symptoms quickly while evaluating unhealthy emotional and behavioral patterns that may require longer-term therapy. I approach personality disorders, attachment dysfunction, and identity confusion from a developmental and psychodynamic perspective and have experience treating borderline, narcissistic, and schizoid personality disorders.

Currently, I am training to become a certified facilitator of therapeutic breathwork, an evidence-based intervention for treating PTSD, complex trauma, and anxiety, endorsed by the International Association of Holistic Practitioners (IAHP) and the International Alliance of Holistic Therapists (IAHT).

I am a die-hard foodie and avid gardener and love to create unique dishes and baked goods with my harvest. I love to learn, appreciate all forms of creativity, and believe in the healing power of humor. My husband and I enjoy camping with our two dogs and parakeet in tow, and we are blessed with two adult sons and three grandchildren.

I am eager to get to know you and assist you in creating a life of adventure, purpose, and peace.
