Beth Deskin
LPC Associate
Beth is a licensed professional counselor associate whose range of interest includes working with teens, adults, families, and couples.
Beth is a graduate of Tarleton State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and went on to earn her Master of Science Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
While completing her graduate studies, Beth worked extensively with trauma and anxiety. She is also a licensed chemical dependency counselor and during her internship in graduate school, Beth worked with individuals in an outpatient setting focusing on trauma & substance use.
Beth approaches therapy from the standpoint that human nature has motives and tendencies to seek rewards and pleasure. These motives drive humans to seek out ways to create feelings of happiness, excitement, and fulfillment. Sometimes these tendencies look for ways to fill in gaps where harmony might not exist in personal lives and/or in relationships with others. The struggle for balance is unique and personal for everyone. Where there is a discrepancy with harmony then mental illness or even crisis can occur.
