Counselor
Debra works with those experiencing anxiety, depression, negative habits, adjustment to new environments and situations, grief, and issues of abuse and anger management.
Debra received her Bachelors in Education from Tarleton State University. After completion, she achieved aTexas Teaching Certification where she worked in the public school systems for more than seven years. After leaving the public school system, Debra worked in the mental health field, working with people with mental illness and learning disabilities. From there she went on to work in the foster care system in Texas. Those experiences led her to a need to do more for the people she had worked to help for so many years. Debra earned her Master’s degree in Counseling/Psychology at Tarleton State University. With many years of experience, Debra brings a great deal of life experience to this work enabling her to connect with her clients on a variety of levels and in both an empathetic and meaningful way. Debra offers therapy for people with anger management needs, abuse survivors, children and teens along with their families, grief counseling, depression and anxiety, stress management, and anger management. Debra believes that she should meet individual clients at their level and therefore enlists a variety of theories to help her clients. Debra understands the importance of connecting and she strives to bring that to the sessions with her clients. Positives are always present in any situation. There are times when it takes someone else to find them for us.
Qualifications:
- Masters of Science degree in Counseling and Psychology from Tarleton
State University in 2016.
